Bob Kerrey and the Idiot Test

Does Bob Kerrey Think Nebraskans Are Idiots?

I'm not up on Nebraska politics these days, but I'm guessing that for a Democrat to win there today, he/she needs to be a relatively moderate/centrist Democrat. Does Bob Kerrey know this?

Here comes Bob Kerrey 2.0 Nebraska

Statement from the desk of Big Bob Kerrey:

Doing things the conventional way has never been my strong suit. This afternoon, I will file to become a candidate for the United States Senate in Nebraska. I came to realize that my previous decision was the easy one, not the right one. My commitment to serve Nebraska and America, and to be part of the debate about the challenges we face was too strong to dismiss. My family supports this decision 100%. I look forward to seeing you in the coming weeks. We have a lot of work to do.

Is this guy a piece of work, or what, Nebraska?

Bob Kerrey still looking for the best offer to run for the Senate

Like the corrupt Nebraskan Senator before him, Bob Kerrey is now suddenly open to offers again and looking out after number one again (and looking for attention, as always).

If you would remember correctly, that is exactly what Ben Nelson did. Took the best offer and then retired.

So, then, this would be the reverse strategy for Bob Kerrey: take the best offer, take the money and then (presumably) take the Nebraskan Senate seat nicely warmed up for him by Big Ben Nelson.

Bob Kerrey says he will not run for U.S. Senate

read story:::Action 3 News

Bob Kerrey says he will not seek the Democratic nomination for U.S. Senate next year.

The former governor and U.S. senator from Nebraska and 1992 presidential candidate says he made the decision not to run for the seat being vacated by Republican Chuck Hagel after discussions with his family. Kerrey says he has unfinished business at New School University in New York, where he is president.

Speaking of New School U, I wonder if Norman Hsu is still on the board, and if the school ever returned his donations? (joking) We have learned that the two U.S. Senators from New York (Hillary and Schmuckie) did get the New School a federal grant of nearly $1,000,000. It's for the children.

Bob Kerrey and Norman Hsu

Former U.S. Senator Bob Kerrey, according to a Wall Street Journal article today, is a long time friend of the recently arrested Democratic fundraiser Norman Hsu.

According to the article:
"Bob Kerrey ... who is president of the New School in Manhattan, met Mr. Hsu through a mutual friend a few years ago. Mr. Kerrey declined to say who the mutual firend is. Mr. Hsu endowed a scholarship in his own name at the New School's Eugene Lang School and joined its board. Last year, he became a trustee of the university. He resigned last week, before surrendering to California authorities. Mr. Kerrey says he enjoyed talking about the fashion business with Mr. Hsu and appreciated his Asian roots. "I thought he would be a great addition to our community."
Many in Democratic circles and the news media are actively encouraging Bob Kerrey to enter the 2008 U.S. Senate race in Nebraska.

It will be interesting to hear of the various Democratic responses regarding Norman Hsu on an official and unofficial basis in the weeks ahead.

According to many, a "don't ask, don't tell" position with respect to Democratic political campaign fundraising will continue into the future.

What kind of suckers does he think Nebraskans are?

That is the central question for Bob Kerrey to answer according to the Plains Feeder blog.

The money quote of the article is:
"He [Kerrey] is thinking about running for the Senate again. This makes two mixed-up, Viet-Nam tainted dunces sitting on that fence. Jon Bruning looks smarter every day."
And that pretty much sums it up for a Monday!
