Jon Bruning Drops Out Of The U.S. Senate Race

A Senate candidate steps down. Attorney General Jon Bruning pulls his name from consideration a year before the election takes place. Bruning wanted people to focus their attention on what many think is the front-runner of the race, former US Agriculture Secretary Mike Johanns. Bruning announced his withdrawl tonight in Omaha. He's been in the race for 5 months, and has raised more than $1 million to win the seat. He's the second man to drop out after Hal Daub ended his short Senate bid. Bruning says Johanns is a good friend with similar views, and he gives Johanns his endorsement.
